Tomorrow Puppies are Five Weeks Old

Five Weeks!  wow it goes fast

Puppies are outside for the first time.  They are in the 8x8x4' kennel half in the sun and half in the shade on the blue rug, puppy pool/bed with toys, water ... and I bet they are ready for food.   I love taking the puppies outside in the fresh air once they are old enough, it wears them out.  They pranced around and barked and watched the big poodles.  Fifi leaned into the chain link to be close to them.  She loves to play with them ... take their new toys and new chew bones ... but she does love to play with the puppies.

here's the start of the Puppy Update, I will add pictures by tomorrow and weights by the end of today.

Ginger

weighed 4# 9oz today

Ginger talks.  Cute story.  I got them all settled in and towards the evening went to the store for about an hour for supplies (puppies & people).  I got home and she ran towards me twirling to reach her butt.  I'm like omg, what the heck?  I pick her up and she had dried poo on her pooper.  Was driving her nuts!  Hilde is feeding the puppies several times a day (well until yesterday) but her milk is a little rich for them now and gives them a little diaherria.  Little Ginger had poo stuck to her butt due to it was a little sticky.  I washed her bottom and face and put her down in the kitchen (which then did everybody too, all faces and bottoms were clean).  She ran around and barked with glee ... so cute.  She was so happy to have that poop off of her bottom!  Ginger now has the (second) nickname of "the talker."  She's very sweet and very personable.

Gidget

weighed 4# 2oz today

She loves to play.  She's all rough and tough and then finds a toy to play with or jump a sibling just b/c she wants to (they are exercising their dominance and pecking order in the litter).  She's very spirited little girl but also sweet and darling.  She's one of the little girls and investigating everything.  She's a small beautiful little girl that prances when she walks and has that air to her to challenge anyone in her path (sweetly).

Gregory

weighed 5# 14oz today

He's the big boy.  I pick him up and get a snuggle with a ... augh ... he always has a full tummy being the big boy he eats twice as fast as everyone else.  He's a sweet beautiful boy, and that face, it's gorgeous.

Genevieve

weighed 4# 8oz today

Well if I can keep the collar on her she's the purple collared girl.  I look at the puppies and here's this beautiful faced little puppy looking at me.  I pick the puppy up saying ... "this is a beautiful puppy" and sure enough it's Genevieve.  She's playful and sweet and gorgeous.  She's not very small comparably but she should be her momma's size about 21" about 32# full grown.  She's a sweet beautiful puppy.  oh, did I already say that?  she really is!

Georgia

weighed 4# 1oz today

I get Georgia and Grigg mixed up still.  I have to pick them up to see if it's the boy or the girl.  Georgia does have smaller lighter weight legs than Grigg though.  But they are still so close to look at.  Georgia is spirited and sweet.  A lot like her sister Gidget but just a tad calmer.  Gidget is outgoing and wants to get it first like her dad.  Georgia is a little more of a combination of mommy and daddy.  As all of the puppies her tail is high flying.  Griggs is a bit more over the top of his body like his dad, but really tough to tell them apart.  

break time, it's getting breezy outside, got to get the puppies into the kitchen ... be right back!

they are in the garage now in their 8x8x4' kennel with two exercise pens attached to that so they can have lots of room.  They have the big potty park and the little potty park one in each area.  They have their small whelping box in the corner with fluffy bedding and toys galore everywhere.
ssshhh, puppies are sleeping, so nice to have them outside, they are worn out and quiet.


Georgie

weighed 5# 1 oz today
Georgie is a happy guy.  I look into the crowd of puppies and he looks back at me with this cuddly little sweet beautiful face.  He's always happy like his momma.  He has that cute little jump in his step like Hilde.  Georgie has thinned out but his is a medium size puppy, substantial boy.  He's an easy favorite.

Gypsy

Gypsy is happy and tearing into someone but mostly interested in the toy or food.  Gypsy is definitely toy and food motivated - great for training.  She hears my voice and here she comes running looking right at my face.  She's very alert and personable.  Really a darling little girl.  She will make someone very happy to have her in their home, she's a special little puppy.  Good thing we already kept Fifi, little Gypsy might have stayed ... but no, we have our hands full so she's looking for her perfect home.

Gervais
white or orange collared boy
weighed 4# 10oz today
Gervais is a nice puppy with a beautiful face.  He just kicks back and relaxes.  One of the bigger boys, he will probably be a little larger than Hilde being a boy, maybe 35# 22."  He's truly a great guy.

Grigg
black collared boy
weighed 3# 7oz today
I get him mixed up with Georgia still!  He's lightweight, I am guessing the same size as Everad about 23# and 18" tall.  I pick him up (several times a day) and he rolls over onto his back.  I put him on the floor and he prances, tail straight up and slightly over his back just like his daddy.  He might have more of Hilde's mild personality, sweet but playful in a quiet and sweet way.  He's quite a guy.  It would be so tempting to keep him ... my husband would kill me!  Grigg is available to a wonderful loving home.



They are five weeks old tomorrow, there's a couple of puppies that have a "lighter area under their noses" and around their eyes, but if they will actually be "silvers" time will tell.


Geez, I havn't been wrong yet with the blue, black and silver puppies but Hilde and Everad just might make my pristine track record get tarnished ... dang.


I will post what exact color the puppies are right before their Volhard Aptitude Testing on Janaury 28th


Picking according to where you are on the reservation list is determined that evening


by sunday, January 29th I will post which puppies are available

otherwise, if you'd like to be "in the pick of things" I would suggest contacting me at barefootpudels@gmail.com to get on the reservation list.  Anyone on the reservation list is invited to the personality testing at a undisclosed location.  We have an unfamiliar person test them in an unfamiliar place to get the innate traits of a young puppy.  It usually is very accurate.
