Day 59

from the last breeding day she is on Day 59
 first breeding day she is on Day 62
guessing when a bitch actually has those 2-3 days that she ovulates is only speculation unless she breeds one time ... Hilde bred three times, I said twice, her and Everad said three ... so it was.  I have learned that the female knows better when she's actually ready than me and the calendar.  Hilde bred much later in her season than last time ... another lesson, it's not always the same.

had some shaking before she went outside this morning

she's laying quietly, Everad and Grace take turns laying with her

Grace really thinks she's ready, last night she sniffed Hilde and jumped around like she was having a puppy and would look at Hilde.  Hilde did do this last time, she takes several days of off and on shaking before she progresses into third stage of labor.   So things do sometimes repeat.
(shaking means the puppies are stretching the the path to the birth canal)

Hilde's temp is 99.9
the dip and then the high is a sign of onset labor

her girth is 28"

she has a couple of bites of raw dog food

she's very uncomfortable but laying quietly in the sun through the window in the front room

She hasn't moved more than rolling from her tummy to her side trying to get comfortable
she's definitely larger than last year.  Joaquin is and has much smaller poodles in his background than Everad does, but, Everad has very small standard poodles, the larger pups are from the dam.

dang it, I was taking pictures yesterday and one of the puppies pulled the string and I dropped the camera, looks like the shutter is broken for sure ... geez, I need to get another camera!
